Bark of Albizzia julibrissin Durazz. or A. kalkora (Roxb.) Pram, family
Leguminosae.
Characteristics
Bark
quilled, 40-80 cm long, 0.1-0.3 cm thick; outer surface grey-brown, longitudinally
stripped or cracked, with many elliptical, transverse and brown-red lenticels
and lichen patches, occasionally with rounded branch scars; inner surface
light yellow-brown to yellow-white, smooth, somewhat finely and longitudinally
stripped. Hard and brittle in texture. Fracture section fibrous. Slightly
fragrant in odour. Sweet in taste, mild in nature. and attributive to
heart and liver channels.
Indication
1.
Tranquilize the mind and disperse the depressed vital energy: For emotional
upset manifested as mental depression, insomnia, and amnesia.
2. Activate blood circulation and relieve carbuncle: For trauma, skin
infection, lung abscess, etc.

1. Tranquilizing.
2. Promoting blood circulation.
3. Analgesic.
Administration
Decoction: 3-10g.
