Flos Dolichoris

The primary flower of Dolichos tablab L., family Leguminosae.
Characteristics
Papilionaceous flower, flat-triangular, 1 cm long; calyx campanunate,
5-lobed, lobes pubescent and yellow; corolla dissected, showing a large
and nearly rounded standard petal on the dorsal side, and two wings, two
keels conjugated in calathiform: 10 stamens in the comlia, of which 9
filaments mostly conjugated, with a pistil in the center. Yellow-white
when dried. Sweet in taste, mild in nature, and attributive to spleen
and stomach channels.
Indication
Clear away summer-heat and eliminate dampness from the upper-jiao, invigorate
the spleen and strengthen the stomach: For summer heat-dampness syndrome
with feeling of oppression in the chest, dysuria and diarrhea, vomiting,
diarrhea and dysentery of dampness-heat type, leucorrhagia, especially
suitable for those with dampness-heat in the spleen.
Administration
Decoction: 3-9g.
